Client: ZeroEyes AI Gun Detection Software Developer and Surveillance Support
Website: https://zeroeyes.com/
Project: Website rewrite and content optimization
ZeroEyes is the leading innovator constantly on the cutting edge of AI gun detection software. They’ve been featured on NBC News, ABC News, Fox, CNN, Inside Edition, as well as other leading networks. They’ve partnered with small businesses, leading corporations, and state and federal agencies to create safer environments for employees, customers, and visitors.
Their main industries include educational facilities, larger corporate spaces, commercial and non-profit organizations, and military and government contract work. Their focus is crime and violence prevention, specifically stopping would-be assailants before they have a chance to commit a violent act.
So, when I was approached with this project, I jumped at the chance to promote a software company that protects people in vulnerable spaces.
Project Objectives and Goals
When meeting with the client, we identified several issues they had with the content, what they liked, and what they wanted to improve. We also established some objectives and goals for th finished content.
Current Challenges
AI-Generated Content
ZeroEyes hired a previous writer who generated the content using AI. As a result, the content was cold, stiff, poorly written, and had zero brand messaging. The tone and style were too generic for a nationally recognized company.
Outdated Informtion
The content was outdated and did not reflect product updates, organizational growth, or current industry trends.
Outdated Keyword Strategy
The content SEO strategy was also outdated and needed a refresh. This industry offers a bounty of keyword strategy opportunities, which were missing in AI-generated content.
The old content did not fit into the newly-designed website layout and did not reflect business growth. So, I had to rewrite the content based on current client needs
Project Objectives
- Write human content that outperforms the previous AI-generated content.
- Reflect on brand messaging, company growth, and product updates.
- Tone and style need to sound authoritative and direct to inspire reader confidence.
- Perform keyword research and strategy incorporating relevant keywords.
- Rewrite all website pages and add eight blogs on key trending topics.
- Add on-page SEO elements based on standard SEO guidelines.
Client and Industry Research
The AI gun detection software industry is a highly specialized and targeted field. Since it’s a relatively new frontier, every innovation is groundbreaking and likely to impact the industry—and all related industries—in a big way. Since I was new to ZeroEyes and the industry, I had my homework ahead of me. Here are some insights:
- The ZeroEyes team is comprised of former special ops, military, and law enforcement experts who have decades of combined experience in surveillance and security.
- AI gun detection software is about prevention, not response. This key element needs to be repeatedly presented in the content, as crime prevention saves lives and eliminates the threat of disaster in public spaces.
- The target audience is high-level decision makers, CEOs, administrators, security personnel, and anyone involved in creating a safe space for employees, customers, and site visitors.
- Since this is a relatively new industry, I had to create trust and confidence in the content. I had to present ZeroEyes as the authority and thought leader in the industry.
- I researched crime data, mass shootings, and gun violence information extensively. More specifically, I researched the inadequacies of traditional response-driven security compared to preventive surveillance found in AI detection software.
- I learned how the software works with surveillance equipment in different settings, including outdoor and indoor spaces.
Keyword Research and Strategy
I used multiple tools to identify the most relevant keywords based on user searches and intent. Here’s a couple of examples of what I found:
Semrush
Semrush has three tools that help me develop a keyword strategy: the Keyword Overview, the Keyword Magic Tool, and the Keyword Strategy Builder. These tools give me an in-depth look at which keywords are the most relevant. I can also find common questions and get an inside look into user intent, which is important for applying keywords correctly in written content.

Keywords Everywhere
The Keywords Everywhere Chrome extension pulls data directly from Google on my web browser. It gives me information on keyword history, volume, and related keywords in real-time. I can see SERP keywords, related keywords, and long-tail keywords.

After I performed the keyword research, I compiled a list of relevant keywords based on the client’s profile, industry trends, user intent, and organic search results. Here’s a partial list:

Writing the Content
The client gave me a two-week timeline to complete the project that included company, product, and industry research, keyword strategy, and content creation, with a couple of meetings in between.
Here are some highlighted pages I wrote:
