Turn Your Legal Eagles Into Superheroes With Descriptive Bios
Sometimes, I get clients who are SUPER PICKY about their content. This is a good thing, as it demonstrates a collaborative spirit and willingness to participate in their marketing success. Also, it ensures that I'm successful because the objectives are clear.
Such is the case with Merchant Gould, a technology intellectual property and patent law firm with offices across the U.S.
In their content briefs, Merchant Gould specified that they wanted more than standard bios. Instead, they wanted to highlight the superstar characteristics of each of their team members and how they contribute to the overall success and growth of the firm.
Challenge accepted!
They provide plenty of documentation to help me create a powerful team member profile:
- One-on-one interview notes
- LinkedIn profiles
- Resumes
- Previous bios (if they worked at other firms before their current position)
Below are some bios I wrote for their team members. Here's the strategy I used:
- First, I followed their instructions. That's always a plus!
- I looked at all the documents to try to capture the essence of the individual - who they are, what they're about, what they believe, and their philosophy or approach towards their role.
- I made a direct correlation between their skills, accomplishments, and duties and their contribution to the team.
- I tried to create a narrative that set them up as an authority or expert in their role.
- Finally, I tried to present them as a passionate, warm person who truly cares about their coworkers and clients
